Events and copywriting

On my first full day at Empire I covered a red carpet premiere, and ever since I’ve been involved in live events for the magazine and elsewhere. Once that meant red carpets and typing answers for celebrities in Empire webchats (they don’t call me “Firefingers” for nothing). In recent years, as well as live podcasts and Empire events, I hosted the blue carpet premiere for Amazon’s Wheel Of Time (duty is heavier than a mountain, but this one was light as a feather); twice hosted the winners’ press conference at the BAFTAs, introduced screenings of films like The Banshees Of Inisherin, and performed Q&As for films including The Nightingale and The Electric Life Of Louis Wain.

I also have a sideline in writing production notes, generics and other material for film studios. If you are a film publicist and interested in this work, please let me know and I can send examples.

A picture of me in a fancy dress but, don't worry, messy hair, in front of a BAFTAs step-and-repeat board at the 2022 BAFTAs
A terrible picture of me, an OK picture of James Dyer, a great picture of Keanu Reeves
Me, in a green shirt and with spectacularly flattering light, at an Empire event with a James Cameron Q&A for Avatar: The Way Of Water
It's me typing for Jude Law in an Empire webchat back in the day

Typing for Benicio del Toro in another Empire webchat. Should I get a fringe again? Maybe I should get a fringe again.
